My dad is being called to Redeemer Pres in Torrance, CA!
They are getting back from a week long trip there tonight. The session voted unanimously to call him as their senior pastor. The congregation will vote in two weeks, but that is really just a matter of policy. My dad will start September 1st. At the moment the plan for my mom is to stay around long enough to sell the house and for her school to hire another teacher. Torrance is in LA county, but is a beach community. The church is very multicultural and a perfect fit for my parents.
This news is very bittersweet. I am thrilled for them, but it is hard to imagine living in Colorado Springs without them. It will be fun to go visit them though. They will be 10 minutes from the beach and an hour from Disneyland. :)
