Florida

On Saturday night we arrived at Sean's dad's house, in Daytona Beach. We have never been there and I have never met his step mom and had only met his brother once before, so this was a special time for all of us. This is their second home. Their first home is in Eagle River, Alaska. Justin has been living here while attending Emory Riddle University.
Jenna took instantly to Grandpa McClure. It was very special us to watch them interact.Uncle Justin had never met the girls. He was so sweet to spend time with us. He is a fantastic guy. Although our primary reason for going to Florida was to attend Justin's graduation that quickly left the mind of two little wanna-be princesses when Grandpa mentioned Disney World!
We drove down to Orlando on Sunday and attended Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Disney World is unbelievable any time of year, but to get to go at Christmas time was amazing. When we got to "It's A Small World" I couldn't help but tear up. Just hearing the song brings back so many wonderful memories from my childhood. To get to bring my own daughters here and watch them experience it all for the first time is a memory I will never forget.
The highlight of our day at Disney was meeting the princesses. I wasn't sure how the girls were going to react. When we first got to the park there was a song and dance show going on at the big castle. As we stood and watched it Sophie was bouncing up and down and pointing out all of the characters. Jenna, on the other hand, simply stared, her blue eyes as big as could be and shushed us when we tried to make a comment. She wanted to take it all in, on her own, without interruption. I thought that meeting the princesses might go the same way, but I was wrong.
When it was our turn to meet Sleeping Beauty and Price Philip, Sophie panicked. She didn't even want to stand close to them. Jenna, on the other hand, ran up to her as if she was her best friend. I think that moment was just as exciting for Sean and I, who have spent hours dancing, dressing up and imagining with her, as it was for Jenna.

We ended the day with front row seats for the Christmas Parade, thanks to Uncle Justin who held our spot for an hour so that we could continue our experience at the park. I decided not to take pictures, just to enjoy the parade and watch my sweethearts take it all in.
The castle was lit up with tons of Christmas lights. It looked like an ice castle. It was amazing. The next morning Jenna asked if we could go back. I told her that we could when she was five (just throwing out a random age). Since then, at least once a day she has reminded me that when she is five we are going back to Disney World. So, I think we will take a much shorter drive down the California cost and take her to Disneyland for her 5th birthday. On Monday we went to Justin's graduation.
It was a special time for all of us and we all look forward to making more memories together.

Hi, Corrie! Your blog is on my Google Reader list, and I love seeing pictures of your beautiful girls and "keeping up" with you through your blog...and now I finally just have to comment. We were at the Magic Kingdom last Sunday, too! It would have been so funny if we could have randomly bumped into each other! We live just an hour away and have season passes, and with as many people as are always there, there have probably been many times that someone we know was there, too. But this is the first time I've known about it!

I hope your cross-country trip is still going well and that you have a wonderful Christmas, despite the geographic chaos! :)
