one of the best parts of being a second time parent is no longer comparing my childrens' development to books and charts. My girls are barely on the height and weight chart, but they are growing and they are healthy. Jenna didn't walk until she was 17 months old, now she loves to run, jump and be chased. I thought I was a relaxed mom with Jenna and in some ways I was, but I was also a first time mom and it is so different when it is your little one. However, there is a line between being relaxed and being negligent finding that balance comes with experience.
Case in point, over the last few days Sophie has started to take some steps and I have been so excited and surprised. I guess because Jenna was a late walker I haven't even thought about Sophie walking or maybe it is the keeping up with two toddlers. Regardless a few days ago Sophie discovered walking and she is taking more and more steps every day. It makes me glad that she is so petite because as excited as I am for her to be walking I don't want her to grow up too fast. That's another lesson I have learned this second time around.

What a cute photo of the girls in their matching sweaters! Thanks for your bit of parenting wisdom...if only we could all learn those lessons the first time, right!? I have missed seeing you guys on Fridays...maybe someday soon my schedule will free up a bit and I can join you again. :)`
