Jenna will be 3 in March, so we have entered the world of potty training. We have been talking about it for months, but she really didn't show any interest, so I decided to wait. The last week of Sean's leave she woke up one morning and told me that she wanted to go on the big girl potty. With that little bit of interest Sean and I decided to go full steam. I emailed my friends who have just recently been through this, we got lots of helpful advice and Sean went out and bought everything from skittles to a 2000 Flushes (the idea being the water would change color if...)
For 2 1/2 days she sat on the potty every 15 to 30 minutes. I was starting to wonder if I was just wearing out or if she just wan't ready. With almost no success, half way through the third day Jenna announced, "I DO NOT LIKE THE POTTY!" And that was it.
So, we continue to talk about it and encourage it, but no pressure. In the midst of those three days I saw a comercial for Depends and marveled that we all aren't still in diapers.
