Catching Up from California

Between adjusting back to being home and computer problems I am falling further and further behind with my posts. So I am just going to up load a ton of pictures, not necessarily in order or with all of the details, but enough to give you all a taste of our last week in California.

We took the girls to Fashion Island, which is an outdoor shopping center. It is beautiful and a fun place to go even if you don't shop! The girls loved riding the carousel.

We got our first taste of Pink Berry which is a very trendy new frozen yogurt chain.
My mom thought that Jenna looked like my mother-in-law with these glasses on. :)

The biggest highlight of the trip for me was going the see the musical "Wicked" with my parents. My mom's dear friend watched the girls and we took the short road trip to Hollywood. It still amazes me that they live so close to all of the excitement and craziness of LA. The musical was amazing. We splurged and got great seats, 12 rows back in the middle. It was 3 hours of almost non stop singing with at least half a dozen costume changes for the entire cast.

We ate dinner a head of time at the Kodak theater, where the Academy Awards are held. Then we had fun browsing some of the shops before the show started

The actress who played Glinda the good witch.

One of my mom's friends from church took us out to eat at the Trump Golf Course. It was such a beautiful place and so kind of her. Unfortunately I couldn't completely enjoy it as you can't at a meal where you are in charge of two toddlers. By the time we left there were goldfish crackers smashed all over the floor and Jenna had "cleaned" the windows with baby wipes. They were both covered in ketchup and all sorts of other things. But, the food was delicious and the staff was so sweet.

About half way through our hostess told me that she had some candy in her purse that might help distract my girls. I was thinking some breath mints or something, so I was shocked when she pulled out these giants lolly pops along with chocolate covered rice crispy treats. By the time I saw them so had the girls, so it was too late to pull out. Jenna did fine, but Sophie is still mastering the skill of getting all her food in her mouth. She not only got it all over her face and clothes, but she rolled around in the leather chair and got the entire sucker stuck in her hair!
Saying goodbye to Papa as he heads off to Dallas for the PCA General Assembly. Our last trip to the beach.
Goodbye California. We can't wait to come back!
