Saying Goodbye to Colorado

Our last few weeks in Colorado were busy, but a blessing. After the craziness of packing, loading and closing on the house we enjoyed time with friends and family and said our goodbyes.

We spent our last night at the house after the packers came and packed up all our things. It was a little hard on the girls to see the house so altered, but we made the most of it and even pulled together a "castle" out of boxes and the sheets that I saved out. I was able to have one last girls night out with my dear Army friends from my mentoring group, Christie and Megan. We went to Ann Taylor and then dinner at PF Changs. We went all out and got drinks, dinner and dessert. It was so refreshing to sit and talk with out little ones crawling all over us. We have 5 girls between the 3 of us ranging in age from 6 months to 3 1/2.

Just days before we got the offer on our house Heather finalized her plans to come and visit. We had no idea her trip would fall in the middle of our move. It turned out to be an amazing blessing for me because she kept the girls all day Thursday while our things were being loaded and then Friday morning when I closed on the house. I was sad to miss so much time with her though. We were staying with my in laws by then, so Heather and Susannah joined us there. Heather was amazing and even took them all out for a walk! It was so much fun to have our girls together.

We were also able to drive up to Fort Collins and visit my cousins Jolly and Katie. Jolly and Cherie just had their first little one in mid September. Little Sam was three weeks old when we visited. Cherie was a trooper to take one so many guests with such a little baby. Heather and I have always been close to Jolly and Katie. We have so many wonderful memories together and had a great time reminiscing. It was quite the picture to see what we have turned in to and so much fun just to sit around and stare at our little ones. :)Katie took pictures of all of the kids together. It was quite the challenge to coordinate the schedules of a newborn, an infant and a toddler, but we got a few good shots. This picture is a little deceitful though because most the time it went more like this.... The Saturday before we left we spent the day with our best friends in town, the Bryants. We went to a pumpkin patch that had all sorts of wonderful things for toddlers. We went on a hay ride, ran through a maze, petted the goats, slid down a huge slide on potato sacks at least a dozen times and ended with picking out our pumpkins. The girls made up their own games and rolled pumpkins down the hill.

We had spent the night with the Bryants the night before and didn't leave their house until 4 or so. We just didn't want to go and they didn't want us to leave. The girls love each other so much. We will miss them all a lot.

(Faith 7 months, Alli almost 3, Jenna 3 1/2, Sophie almost 2) The day before we left we went to the Coopers for lunch. We have grown very close to Sean's aunt and uncle during our time here. Aunt Kim showered the girls with gifts for the trip, including a lot of Disney Princess things that were a huge hit.
Becca hasn't been back in town for long, but we have loved having her around. Aunt Becca is a favorite baby sitter and I have really enjoyed getting to know her. I just wish we weren't leaving just as she came home.
Thanks to everyone for your love and support. There are many more friends who took the time to have one last get together with us and let us know how much they love us. We love you all and will miss you.
